Senseg
Tactile Touch Screen Application
for Senseg, filed under Interfaces
For Senseg, we created a touch screen application that helps them present their cutting edge technology to their customers in an engaging way.
Discovery Phase
No matter how brilliant, technical innovations by themselves can be hard to sell. A well-designed, solid user experience provides abstract technologies with a tangible and concrete layer, which makes it an indispensable sales tool for technology startups.
This was the challenge that Senseg faced and one we set out to meet. It soon became apparent that an attractive, hands-on prototype of their tactile feedback technology would be an ideal sales tool.
I was impressed and proud to work with these professionals.

Elaboration Phase
As the functionality requirements for the prototype were locked down somewhat early in the process, we arranged a series of workshops, both with the client and among the team at Nordkapp.
This collaborative method of working allowed us to dive into our client’s business and innovate several new uses and possibilities inherent in their technology. (Due to the extremely tight timeframe we were working with, these findings were compiled and set aside further for further development later on.)
Refinement Phase
Once all the requirements were set, Senseg started developing an API for their hardware. Meanwhile, we worked in parallel to finalize the visual and interaction design for our part of the software, the presentation layer. All this was implemented in a highly advanced and agile way on top of the SenseG hardware API.
Results
Finally, the disparate threads were pulled together into a real-life prototype combining the tactile touch screen with a emotionally captivating interface.
The prototype was also expanded into a larger context, namely a user interface system that demonstrates the benefits of the E-Sense technology. Best of all, the iterative development allowed us to implement new ways of utilizing the hardware on the fly.
The final working prototype turned Senseg’s advanced technology into a clear, concise and, most important of all, sellable presentation for their potential clients. The results were an extremely happy client with a superb sales tool for their core business. We continue to work together to produce even better innovations.
